Howling Point is Chuck's personal website.

Everything here is his sole responsiblity. Some snippets of the site date back to 1996, but the blog started in 2001 and adopted the Howling Point name in 2002.

Chuck comes here to vent and rant and hang out and enjoy the company.

Chuck is a native Californian, and lived in Huntington Beach and Berkeley before making a wrong turn in Albuquerque and spending twelve years away from the Golden State in the '80s and '90s. Washington, DC and its suburbs, La Paz, Lome and Moscow (Idaho) became the extended pit stops on the road trip of life before the circle completed in 1999. Monterey, San Diego and Escondido have been called home in the modern era.

Randy

Randy, aka Spinnerdude, and formerly known as Non-Googleable Friend or NGF, spends his days inspiring young minds, and spends too much of the remainder of his time commenting on things Chuck writes here.

He and Chuck live together in Escondido, and would be considered partners in crime in several states and numerous foreign countries. In California though, the label 'partners' will suffice.

Diego

Diego was adopted from the S.D. Humane Society by Randy and Chuck in March 2008. The Blur of Fur™ is a Maltese Mix, born sometime around January 2007.

Pongo

Pongo and Chuck were together from the moment they met on a street corner in Lome, Togo, in June 1995 until Pongo's death in July 2006. He was Chuck's muse and Chuck's model, and is sorely missed.

The Site

Howling Point as a domain was adopted by Chuck in 2002, and is the continuation of web pages created in the late 1990s. The blog section was started in 2001.

Like the banners? Did you even notice the banners? They rotate based on a PHP script, and as tone-setters and indicators of Chuck's mood are as much a part of the substance of the site as the words and photography.
